 A pain supported by conscience : stuttering.

“Stutter is a symptom of neurosis, then defensive, a good defense: the child  does not want to tell a lie and stops, he - or she - omits to say what he, or she, did not want to say.” [1]

Stutter is pain – euphemistically a disability – and starting from child: conscience fuels this pain.
